Hi my name is Elaine, I'm a mother of 3 grown up children and have 5 adorable grandchildren. I've always loved making and doing, and as long as I can remember I have always crafted. My earliest memory of crafting was with my father making spill holders for my male relatives as Christmas gifts. I couldn't have been much more than 5 years old. We made them from empty tin cans and covered them with wall paper. The trims we used to use around fireplaces we cut up and stuck them on to the can, added a bundle of coloured spills and there they were, personalised gifts!! Over the years my interests and skills have changed and developed but knitting, crochet and sewing have been a constant source of pleasure. In the last 15 years I have become increasingly interested in paper crafts and have developed a real love of card making, scrap booking - anything involving paper, inks and rubber stamps! Recently, I became an Independent Demonstrator for Stampin Up! and wow do I love the products they are fabulous! Another new craft I have recently become interested in is Quilting, which I love. It is everything I enjoy, colour, stitching, fabrics, precision, relaxing in front of the TV just quietly getting on!! Crafting is part of me and my life and those of you who are crafter's will understand that!! Happy crafting :-) xx

August Blog Hop

Hi my post today is all about blog hopping with my fellow team mates Julie’s Jems, and the theme of the hop is boxes, bags and packaging. Anyone who knows me, knows how I love making boxes. My project was made with 12×12 card stock and stamped with Stampin Up Wild about Flowers and Pappillion Potpourri using Rich Razzleberry, Sweet Sugarplum and Pear Pizzaz inks. ย The box is a good size and would be ideal for chocolates, handmade soaps, perfume coffret or a bottle of pink fizz. It’s so pretty, I love the unique shape and I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it. Happy Crafting๐Ÿ˜Š

What, no craft space!

Hi, I’ve been a very busy girl this last week moving craft stuff around, rearranging and getting a little bit excited! I no longer have a paper craft space at home it’s gone and made way for my sewing room. No I’ve not given up my beloved stamping, paper crafting it’s just got a new home. Keep watching this space for more information over the next week ……… As Our Creative Den begins to take shape in the beautiful Calder Valley, sooo excited! The pictures attached are my old craft space before and after, no doubt I will fill it up a bit more! Happy Crafting ๐Ÿ˜„

Novelty card

Hi, the new in colour DSP stack Playful Palette lends it’s self well to all kinds of projects. This particular sheet made me think of fabric and how pretty it would look as a novelty apron card. It’s a quick make card and open to all kinds of fancy accessorising, your imagination can run wild. Happy Crafting ๐Ÿ˜Š

Using my stash

imageHi, been in the craft space a lot this weekend as the weather has been far from good! Today’s project is a small 2″ square cube box with a lid, a band and bow made using birthday DSP and the Bow Builder Punch from Stampin Up. The card stock used to make this box is the 12 x 12 Kraft card which is thicker than the normal card stock and makes perfect sturdy boxes. You can see these items and so much more at my Stampin Up online store http://www.elainebaines.stampinup.net ย Happy Crafting and keep warm ๐Ÿ˜Š

3rd Birthday Boing Box Card

Hi, today’s project is a bespoke project I put together for Edward’s 3rd birthday, he’s my sweetheart ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’• it took me quite sometime to put it together with a handmade spring to present the contents in a totally amazing way. Reality, it just struggled to pop about 1cm no sign of boing at all! Having said that it looks pretty good once it’s assisted from hiding and tweaked to make the best of the display. Eddie liked it and that’s all that matters. Hope you’re all having a good Bank Holiday and Happy Crafting ๐Ÿ˜Š

Project Life

Hi, I had a very productive craft day yesterday making items for workshops including this Project Life page. Project Life is a great way of getting those photographs of your mobile phone, iPad etc. and getting them seen, saved and memories recorded. It’s a quick version of scrapbooking and can be as ornate or not, it’s just up to you. I will be offering Project Life workshops soon, so if you’re interested in having a go just keep an eye on this space. Happy Crafting ๐Ÿ˜Šimage
